About Project
Super Reply is a Chrome extension that generates email replies using AI(OpenAI). It’s Flask backend built using Python integrated with the OpenAI to create accurate and context-aware suggestions. With Super Reply, you can easily craft high-quality replies that sound like you without the hassle of manually typing out responses.
Client's Need
The client needed a solution where the users could generate complete email replies in an effort equivalent to just clicking a button. His requirement was a Chrome extension that reads the entire email thread and uses ChatGPT or any other OpenAI model to generate relevant responses.
Solution
We built an API backend using Flask, which communicated with the OpenAI model. We created the required endpoint with a specific input format, including the email thread messages and other relevant information. Then we dynamically built a prompt from that input for OpenAI's model and prompted it for reply suggestions. And we were sending those suggestions to the client side of the app, i.e., the Chrome extension. Chrome extension injects a special reply button; upon clicking that button, a popup shows the suggested replies from the OpenAI. Behind the scenes, it reads the email thread and calls our backend with the emails parsed into a specific format that the backend expects.
